Pekka Sorsa, former President of Danisco Sweeteners Ltd., has more than thirty years of experience in the global food ingredients industry, most recently as President of Danisco Sweeteners Ltd., one of the largest food additive companies in the world. Trevor M. Callan, CIMA, CEO, co-founded Callan Capital with his brothers, Ryan and Tim, after a highly successful career at Merrill Lynch. He was selected through a rigorous testing process to be the first advisor to represent the Merrill Lynch Private Banking and Investment Group (PBIG) in San Diego, an operation dedicated to clients with substantial liquid assets in excess of $10 million. Callan earned a Certified Investment Manager Analyst (CIMA) designation following coursework and examination at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. The CIMA attests to superior proficiency in asset allocation, investment policy, manager searches, risk management as well as a keen appreciation of ethics. He began his career in 1992 at Shearson Lehman Brothers. In 1994, he transferred to Merrill Lynch, where he ultimately became the First Vice President and earned several service awards. Trevor is a former board member of the Chairman’s Roundtable and Treasurer of the San Diego Social Venture Partners. Wun C. Chiou, Sr. is currently working as technical consultant for various technology companies, especially for projects related to clean tech and renewable energy sources, such as solar energy. Until July 2005, he has founded and directed three successful software and systems companies in Silicon Valley spanning over twenty-five years. Dr. Chiou, Sr. received his PhD in biophysics, minoring in mathematics and computer sciences from Ohio State University in 1973 and worked at Ohio State Research Foundation as post-doctoral fellow. He was a branch chief of Computer Science Division at NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California in 1985 and later founded three successful commercial software and systems companies in Silicon Valley from 1986 to 2005. Chiou, Sr. was appointed by President Reagan to be one of the three members during the transition team in December of 1979 to visit Chinese Academy of Science along with Dr. Vernon Grose, President Reagan's science advisor. Later on, he worked with Steve Jobs as an independent NeXT systems developer that integrated external floppy drive and hard disk enclosure with interoperable software. In 1999, Dr. Chiou created a nonprofit organization called Global Village Foundation that provides tele-medical and legal services to the poor world-wide. Dr. Chiou went to Shanghai in 2000 and established Skydragon Systems that help Western corporations to manufacture products in China. Among those clients, Yahsin Industries with around $2 billion annual sales has customers like Sony, Phillips and NEC and products like PS2/3, LCD TV, LED, Generic Smartphone and laptop for ODM. For the software companies, such as StandbySoft, ClipArt.com and TurboCAD from IMSIsoft Dr. Chiou has been instrumental in introducing them to large distribution channels in Japan and China. Peter Ellegaard currently holds the position of Vice President of Hardware and Firmware Engineering at DriveCam Inc. He has 16 years of experience in electronics engineering. The majority of Mr. Ellegaard's career was spent at Nokia where he was involved with technology and product development. His products have sold in aggregate for over $18B. In addition to being responsible for the overall coordination of the R&D strategy planning and transition for a joint venture, he managed a three-company initiative and was intimately involved in road mapping, consumer electronics product creation and manufacturing/logistics. Throughout Mr. Ellegaard's career, he has been a key figure in performing current state analysis and developing long-term business and engineering strategies.
